Cubs get 2nd straight walk-off win against the Cardinals

The Cubs got their second straight walk-off win against the Cardinals tonight (and their first series win of the season), thanks to Alfonso Soriano's single in the 10th inning, which scored speedy Tony Campana.  The final score was 3-2 and the Cubs also win their first series this season!

Jeff Samardzija was impressive tonight and pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings and gave up only four hits and struck out a career-high nine batters.  He was in line for his second win over the Cardinals, but Carlos Marmol came into the game in the eighth and gave up a two-run homer to Matt Holliday to give the Cardinals a one-run lead.

James Russell was also impressive tonight and showed his potential in the relief pitcher role.

Bryan LaHair hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning.  LaHair was also the last one to hit a home run for the Cubs before tonight.

The Cubs will play the final game in their series against the Cardinals tomorrow at 1:20pm CST at Wrigley Field.  Chris Volstad will start for the Cubs and try for his first win of the season.
