The Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds today 8-6 at HoHoKam Park. Newly acquired left-handed pitcher Paul Maholm made his Cubs debut and allowed one run and two hits over two innings pitched. Maholm hadn’t pitched in a game since August 17, 2011 because he missed the final six weeks with the Pittsburgh Pirates due to a left shoulder strain. Jeff Samardzija pitched next, followed by Carlos Marmol, who allowed three runs on two hits, two walks, and also hit a batter. It's Marmol's second blown lead in his last two outings. Here's a
